Welcome to the Iowa JCI Senate website.

I’m Lora Lawton and I am Senator # 66156

I was born and raised in Iowa and graduated from Grand Community High School in Boxholm, IA.  Somewhere in the 80’s I moved to the Washington DC area and then on to Nashville TN.  While in TN I was a member of the priest Lake Jaycees in Nashville and held a few local and state positions and appointments.  Since I joined too close to the age out, I had no option but to continue to help my chapter and the State with positions that needed assistance even after I aged out.  I was awarded a TN Jaycees Lifetime Membership in 1999 and a Senatorship in 2005.

In 2007 my company said that I could work from home wherever I said that home was, so I moved from TN back to Boxholm, Iowa.  One of the perks of this move was that it put me within a few blocks of my father and my sister here in town.  It took me a while to break out of my shell to join up with the IA JCI Senate, but I can’t imagine now how my life would be without these friends/family in my life.

The JCI Senators around the world strive to foster friendships and to assist the JCI members in their endeavors.  I hope that you can join us and share with us this year and beyond.

I look forward to working with and for the Iowa JCI Senate, JCI Iowa, Region VI, and the US JCI Senate this year and for years to come.

We Believe …..
