Welcome to the Iowa JCI Senate website.

I’m Cheryl Davis Sauerbrei and I am Senator #44003

I was born and raised in Iowa and graduated from Allison-Bristow High School in Allison, Iowa. I graduated from Iowa State University in Dietetics and Food Science and did my dietetic internship in Rochester, Minnesota at the Mayo Clinic. Later I completed my Master’s degree in Dietetics with a Management specialist at UNL as I had moved to Council Bluffs. I joined the Council Bluffs Jaycee Women in March of 1983 and served in two local VP positions and as District Director for Region M before the merger in 1985 when I joined the Council Bluffs Jaycees. Before I aged out, I served as Regional Director the year of the merger and held 3 state VP positions. My Senatorship was presented by the Council Bluffs Jaycees in January of 1989. I paid my Lifetime dues at that time. However, as I was aging out of the Jaycees and had two children under a year, I didn’t become involved in the Senate.

In 2003, I moved back to the Waverly area to be near my family and decided to get back in touch with the Iowa JCI Senate for some social interaction. Being Mom and working full-time didn’t provide the socialization and friendship I sought. Getting back involved with the Senate was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The friendships across the state, region, and nation since then are invaluable.

The JCI Senators around the word work to assist the JCI members. The US JCI Senate also works to support the US JCI Senate Foundation providing scholarships to high school seniors along with fostering friendships. I hope you can join us and share with us this year as “Friends Nurture Friends” and “Experience the Senate” together.

I look forward to working with and for the Iowa JCI Senate, JCI Iowa, Region VI, and the US JCI Senate this year and in the future.

We Believe That Service to Humanity is the Best Work of Life!
